You’ve taken the first step to creating a sustainable garden that’s all about you and your lifestyle and we’re excited to be involved.  We are happy to arrange a convenient time for a Hawkins Horticultural Consultant to meet with you at your property.  In the meantime, please find following some important information pertaining to our garden consultation services:

Call Out Fee

Our call out fee is $130  (including GST) and must be paid prior to our visit. 

Call out fee includes:

-        Up to one hour’s discussion with a Hawkins Consultant to find out everything you’ve always wanted to know about your plants and garden.  We encourage you to take notes and ask as many questions as you need to about soil improvement, pH testing, mulching, gardening techniques and general plant advice  

-        Travel time to destinations within a half hour drive time from Hawkins Chandler.  Additional travel costs to further destinations are available on request.

The call out fee can be paid by cheque, cash or credit card at Hawkins Chandler.  We also accept credit card payments over the telephone.

                                                 Extra Services Available

In-store consultation

Up to one hour’s discussion with a Hawkins Consultant to explore garden design ideas and what to plant where, is available by appointment  in-store. This service is free of charge and presents an opportunity for you to discover more about your garden, suitable plants and products. In order to maximize potential from your in-store consultation, you should have the following information readily available when you visit us :

-          Measurements of the area and/or garden(s) intended for discussion

-          Printed photos of this area and/or garden(s)

-          An indication of the soil type

-          Aspect (for example hot afternoon sun, morning shade, dappled shade from trees etc.)

-          Specific areas requiring screening for privacy

Planting Guides

Planting Guides are on average an additional $145  (including GST) for a front or back garden based on a 700-900 sq m block.  Actual cost can be discussed during your initial consultation and will depend on the amount of detail required and actual land size.

Planting Guides  are personalized to suit your needs and include:

-        Plant and design information tailored to your garden and lifestyle

-        A viewing/review of suggested plants during a visit to Hawkins.  Once you are happy with our choice of plants, we are happy to provide a quote for the supply of plants and other related materials

      Purchases of $500 or more in a single transaction will receive a 12.5% discount

      Purchases of $1500 or more in a single transaction will receive a 20% discount

Gardening Notes

Gardening Notes are on average $95 for a front or back garden based on a 700-900 sq m block.  Actual cost can be discussed during your initial consultation and will depend on the amount of detail required and actual land size.

Gardening notes include:

-        a step-by-step gardening guide full of information specifically tailored to your garden

-     valuable information about products to improve your growing conditions, pruning tips, weed identification and management, plant identification and viability, top soil advice, mulching advice, and pest and disease
